Spooky Spooky Itinerary:
Whitewater, WI, has a dark side filled with local folklore and shadowy historical figures. The legends, lurking amongst the dark corridors of our little slice of the Midwest leads to a surprising story.
It all started with the Morris Pratt Institute, the educational leader in the study of spiritualism. Followers participated in seances within the institute’s “white room,” lifting the veil between our world and the world beyond.
Whitewater is known as “Second Salem,” thanks in part to the infamous water tower known as The Witches Tower. It is said that witches lurked through tunnels to meet at the tower.
Forming a “Witches Triangle”, three cemeteries hold the key to some of the more treacherous of Whitewater’s legends like famed Mary Worth also know as Bloody Mary.
Experience the spooks and scares for yourself on the annual Spirit Tour in October. The event is hosted by the Whitewater Area Chamber of Commerce.
