Day One

Start your morning in downtown Whitewater at The Sweet Spot Cafe or the Center Street Cafe. Grab a freshly brewed coffee, bagel sandwich, or extra sandwiches for a picnic later in the day.
On your way back to the lake, stop at the historic Whitewater Flowing Well to fill your water bottle with naturally flowing spring water.
Adventure
Spend the morning exploring the beautiful trails surrounding Whitewater Lake. Hike the Ice Age Trail – Whitewater Lake Segment as it winds through the forest to a scenic overlook offering beautiful views of Whitewater Lake.
Looking for a shorter walk? Head to Natureland County Park at the south end of the lake for four peaceful nature trails varying in length & difficulty.
Lunch & Lake Time
Pack your lunch and spend the afternoon at Whitewater Lake Beach. Relax on the sandy beach, soak up the sunshine, and cool off with a swim in the lake. For those looking to explore the water, rent a kayak or paddleboard and experience Whitewater Lake from a new perspective.

Dinner

Day Two
Breakfast

Adventure
Continue your exploration with a hike on the Ice Age Trail – Blackhawk Segment. Choose a shorter three-mile loop around Lake La Grange or extend your adventure by continuing farther along the Ice Age Trail through the scenic Kettle Moraine landscape.

Before heading home, spend some time at the peaceful D.R. O.R. Rice Picnic Area. Located on a peninsula extending into Rice Lake, this hidden gem is perfect for fishing, reading, picnicking, birdwatching, or simply relaxing in a hammock while enjoying the sounds of nature.

Travel Tips
Here are a few helpful things to know before your visit:
A Wisconsin State Park vehicle admission pass is required to access Whitewater Lake Beach and other areas within the Kettle Moraine State Forest – Southern Unit.
The Ice Age Trail and Natureland County Park are dog-friendly. Dogs must remain leashed (8-foot maximum length) and under control at all times.
Kayak rentals are available seasonally near Whitewater Lake Beach.
State park properties are carry-in, carry-out facilities. Please help keep the area beautiful by taking all trash with you when you leave.
Uncle Buck's Gas Station is closed to the lake offering ice, gas, liquor, and other necessities.
Depending on where you stay, you will be 15 minutes or so away from the City of Whitewater that offers groceries, places to shop, restaurants, etc.
