A Tall Glass of (white)Water – Artesian Spring

November 6, 2015

Have you heard of the fairly new (again) concept of water consumption? It is literally “springing” up everywhere!

Artesian Spring

Benefits

That’s right; natural spring water is all the rage. One of the key benefits of natural spring water is that it comes from water that flows to the surface from a clean underground water source. Spring water is also known as “live water.” Water that is 'alive' is fresh, clean, organic, and unprocessed meaning it is natural drinking water in its purest form. It has all the goodies that bottled water can’t even dream of possessing. Drinking alkaline spring water will help to neutralize acidity in the body and can reduce the amount of free radical damage. It will also help to keep bones and teeth strong and dense.

Whitewater Flowing Well

Oh and guess what? We have a natural artesian spring right here in Whitewater! Whitewater’s flowing well was hand dug in 1895 by Adam Channing to an original depth of 55′. It has been flowing steadily to this day. The water in Artesian wells flow from aquifers where water at a higher elevation puts pressure on the water below it causing it to flow out readily when given an outlet.

How do I get this delicious water?!

Want to find the spring and taste the benefits yourself? Take Hwy 12 to the south end of Whitewater, go south on Hwy 89 for about a mile or less. Turn left on Anderson Road (just a small sign so look closely). Drive a mile or so east to Clover Valley Road and turn right. Go another mile or less and it’s on your right. It’s well marked. Or plug it into your GPS: 42.798925,-88.715157.
